It's a pretty, albeit muddy walk through the woods where we pass Falling Foss, before heading out onto the moors. Now, our guidebook descibes the next bit of the walk as 'slightly boggy' which turns out to be a bit of an understatement, especially when i try to jump over a stream and manage to get one leg stuck in a bog up to my thigh! At least i'll look suitably dishevelled when we arrive in Robin Hood's Bay!!
We get a little bit lost after crossing the A169 but soon get back on track and it's a very pleasant walk down into the village of Littlebeck and then on into Little Beck Wood and the Hermitage which is a boulder hollowed out into a little cave.
