Coast to Coast Day 13 - (Fri 22nd May) Blakey Ridge to Grosmont(13.5 miles)

After a very good night's sleep and a hearty breakfast we finally set off from the Lion Inn at about half past ten, we're in no rush to set off as it's a much shorter day and we're camping again tonight!
Realise we're £3 short for the Packhorse van but they've said we can just put the extra in tomorrow which is a relief, i can't imagine what state we'd have been in by now if we'd still been carrying the tent and all our stuff? It certainly wouldn't have been as enjoyable, that's for sure!
It's a bit of a boring walk across the moors to start off with before dropping down into the village of Glaisdale where we stop and get some cash out at the post office and then decide to stop off for a drink at the Arncliffe Arms a little further along the road. Now this is the first time on the walk that we've had a drink during the day (usually it's something to look forward to at the end of a long day's walking) but we figure it's an easy walk and it won't matter too much today...big mistake! We only have a pint but the rest of the walk feels like an uphill battle, must be all the fresh air, and we drag our feet all the way to Grosmont!! When we arrive in Grosmont it's lovely and sunny and we pitch up at the campsite which to be honest is one of the worst we've stayed on the entire trip, the facilities are very basic and it soon fills up with people arriving for the bank holiday weekend (sound systems and all!) We have a quick rethink, after all this is the last night of our trip and it would be nice to arrive in Robin Hood's Bay tomorrow (relatively) fresh! So we pack everything up and manage to get a room at a B&B in town...it later turns out that a few other Coast to Coasters on the campsite have had the same idea!!
We have some food at the Station Tavern and watch the steam trains going past and then get an early night, before our final day of the walk!
