Coast to Coast Day 6 - (Fri 15th May) Shap to Kirkby Stephen (21miles)

We end up getting a bit lost at one point which is not fun in the pouring rain but manage to eventually get back on track and shelter under a tree to have our sandwiches.  To be honest there's not a lot to say about the actual walk today as mostly all i can remember is having my head down and trudging through lots of muddy fields in the rain! The last few miles in particular seem to go on forever.  We eventually made it into the Pennine View Campsite in Kirkby Stephen about six o'clock and not only was Tim waiting for us...but he'd even pitched our tent! I was so happy and tired i could've cried!! After a hot shower and some clean clothes we head over to the Croglin Castle pub over the road where theres a roaring fire and one of the best meals we've had on the entire trip, i would've quite happily fallen asleep in the pub but we reluctantly drag ourselves away from the fire and head back to our tent (for hopefully a much better night's sleep than our previous night under canvas!)
