We wake up to someone wandering around the campsite shouting our names, turns out the Packhorse van sets off from Kirkby Stephen with one bus going east and one west each morning and as so is much earlier than we expected...the guy is very understanding and says he'll come back in 15 minutes when he's picked up all his other bags! Then it's a complete whirlwind panic of getting dressed, packing up all our stuff and putting down the tent before he comes back....don't think we've ever moved so fast!! We manage to get it all packed away and then go for some breakfast to recover from the mad panic before we set off walking for the day. I'm glad we did - it's a real pull out of Kirkby Stephen up to the moors and the famous nine standards.
