It's quite a steep hill out of Patterdale heading up to Angletarn and it certainly gets our weary legs moving this early in the day! It's really windy at the top and misty too - we'll certainly be lucky if we make it all the way to Shap (and through the entirety of the lake district) without a drop of rain! - finger's crossed! Then it's across a boggy patch at the top and then on past The Knott before making our way up to the top of Kidsty Pike. There ends up being a little group of us going up Kidsty Pike at the same time which makes things a lot easier to navigate as it's getting quite misty and we were a little bit unsure of the route at first. Then before we know it, there we are at the highest point on the coast to coast - i'd like to think that means it's all downhill from now on but i'm not sure it's as simple as that!!
