Pretty much as soon as we set off over the red route across the moors it starts to rain - heavily! It's really boggy and it takes most of our effort to keep our feet dry and avoid stepping in the really boggy patches. It carries on raining and hailing intermittently all through the day but at least it's a clear day, so easy to follow the path - i think it would be very easy to get lost up here on a misty day. It's not long before we're over the moors and arrive at the farmhouse at Ravenseat that Julia Bradbury visited on the BBC coast to coast programme where we tuck into a hot chocolate and a cream tea, lovely! We found a pair of sunglasses as we walked over the moor and they turn out to belong to one of the guys on the next table who pays for our cream tea to say thanks! Feeling refreshed, we head off across another milestone of the trip - the county border back into Yorkshire! Surely we can't be too far from home now!!
