From here it's a straightforward path down through the valley with some lovely views across Ullswater just before you arrive in Patterdale. We head straight to the White Lion pub where we're booked in for the night - even managing to beat the Packhorse van with our bag!! We spend a leisurely afternoon washing our socks and catching up on my journal before heading down to the bar for a few drinks and an absolutely massive dinner (sure we'll walk it off on the 16 miles to Shap tomorrow!) - I even get to watch the apprentice - pretty much a perfect day really!
