When we wake up it's still raining but at least we're booked into a B&B tonight in Richmond. It's a short day today (can't believe i'm actually classing 10.5 miles as a short day, but thats what the coast to coast does to you!) so we're hoping to get to Richmond early to get some washing done and just relax for the afternoon!
We have some breakfast at the Black bull and then head off in the rain towards Richmond...unfortunately we miss a turn off and end up walking on the road most of the way to Richmond which isn't very exciting and is hard going on the feet, but we can't face turning back and starting again so we plod on and eventually the sun comes out and we've mostly dried off by the time we get there. I say mostly because my shoes are still sopping wet from falling in the river yesterday and i've had to walk today with plastic bags in my shoes...very glamorous!!
We arrive around 2pm but it seems our B&B have a policy of not letting anyone in before 3! so we head to the pub for a few drinks and finally manage to get into our room. We get all our washing done which is great and then go to the cinema in the evening at The Railway which makes a nice change from going to the pub every night!
