Wake up late after a fantastic nights sleep and have a leisurely breakfast before setting off for the day. We head out of Richmond past the castle and from then on it's a very unremarkable day! I have to say it but i'm really missing the lakes...it's so flat and boring on this section that even though it's quite easy walking, there's nothing to take your mind off your aching feet and i feel like we're trudging on; desperate to get to a more exciting part of the walk! We spend most of the day putting on and taking off our waterproofs which is a bit of a pain and it's with great relief that we make it to Danby Wiske. The White Swan has shut down, but there's still an informative sign up to let us know how far we've come...and how far we've still to go! Luckily an enterprising lady called Jean who runs Ashfield B&B has set up a little outdoor cafe in her garden so we sit and have a drink and a rest. She's set up an honesty box and tea/coffee making facilities as well as a well stocked fridge full of sandwiches and drinks! The next couple of miles are mostly alongside the road which isn't great for our aching feet but we're soon at Lovesome hill farm where we pitch our tent for the night and then head into Northallerton for a few drinks and a curry before heading back to our tent. Not the most thrilling day on the coast to coast - but another step closer to arriving in Robin Hood's Bay!!

I've just chanced upon this due to having a Google search set up to notify me of anything it can find about North Allerton - which in this case should be all one word Northallerton - and there are 3 true North Allerton's out there in the world, one in Scotland, another in America and another in Australia...
Good luck with the Blog, I guess that you walked it all earlier last year as your not showing any snow now...
