We had meant to make this a much longer walk of the Loweswater fells but the weather took a turn for the worse as we reached the summit so the rest will have to wait for another day.
We parked at the national trust car park at Maggie's bridge and walked a little on the road to the Kirkstile inn before heading along the lane towards the foot of the hill. For a little hill it was quite a lot of effort on the initial scree slopes although not as bad as I had been expecting. There was one little freak out moment for me(vertigo kicking in!) but it was really ok and we were soon on the easier path up through the heather where I felt totally okay and the views were gorgeous across the valley. We were soon at the north top which was incredibly windy and quickly made our way over to the south top summit. We decided to head for lower ground so quickly descended via grassy slopes to the edge of Mosedale beck and followed the path back to the start of the walk. A really fab walk and looking forward to coming back to finish off the rest soon.
