Wake up early to the sound of rain on the tent which is not good as this is going to be a hard enough day as it is, 20 miles across the moors to the Lion Inn at Blakey ridge! It would probably be advisable to get an early start on such a long day but Chris refuses to get up until it stops raining...it doesn't!! We finally get the tent packed away in the rain and set off about 10am. There's not really anywhere to get breakfast so we have to make do with a cheese and pickle sandwich from the corner shop, not the heartiest of breakfasts! We soon find our way back onto to the Coast to Coast path and head up onto the moors. Firstly its a steep climb onto Live Moor before dropping down onto Carlton Moor - it's already chucked it down a couple of times and i suspect it will be another day of constantly putting on and taking off our waterproofs but we arrive at Lord Stones Cafe in glorious sunshine and finally manage to grab some breakfast and sit and enjoy the sun before our day's walking really begins!
