Coast to Coast Day 1 (Sun 10th May) - St. Bees to Low Cock How (13.5 miles)

After a couple of miles, the path heads inland past Birkham's Quarry and onto the little village of Sandwith.  Then its under a railway tunnel and into some fields, now i'm not sure if we took a wrong turning here but we ended up trudging through a really boggy field which wasn't great, so we stopped for our lunch and to dry out our feet a bit.  Then its on to Cleator where we stop to watch the local cricket team for a while before heading up dent hill.  Its absolutely boiling by this point and the days walking, coupled with the heavy backpacks is starting to take its toll on both of us...still, the views from the top are pretty spectacular and at least we know its all downhill from here, for today anyway!!
